Poem: The Southerlies in July of Bronte and Bondi!”~Debbie Papadakis.

When the Southerlies blow …

The waves rage high …

Standing against the cliffs of Bronte and Bondi !

Oh !! man, Ohh man,

What power ..a mesmerizing sight..

Are the forces of the Ocean…and what those waves want, no one can deny!

To some these waves provoke fear…

Of the  turbulance hearing them roar …

To others a challenge to greet with a sigh they want more!

Never the less, it is respect for the Ocean…

No one should or would deny..

That they and we all learn and must keep and identify!

Reading the signs…of the waves that dance…

Beneath those grey grey clouds ….

Would have Surfers challenge them, at first chance!

To some that is profound…or even crazy they would say…

To meet those challenges….

They aim for the ultamate challenge in every way!

The Surf ‘cowboys’ of the ocean…

Test their riding skills on those waves  every morn..

Call it a skill competition of technique…

Master surfing with zeal and like a storm!

They challenge the tubes and wave crests…in lightening speed..

To master the swell and the waves to beat!!!
