A poem about the Anzac nurses, the silent heroes.

The ‘ Barest essentials’ were the lot…

T’was all these nurses had relied on, to do the job..

Of caring and tending to those wounds…

That were so penetrated by those ‘machine guns of doom’…

Testing the ‘Brave hearts’of the Diggers so soon!

In Life they were all tested…

‘Choosing Humane Values’ that in them were invested..

In Establishing a Hospital Unit on an Isle …

Working hand in hand with the Lemnians for more than a while…

Picking up on the ‘hardened people’s’ survival skills…

Who two years earlier had ousted ‘Ottoman Rule’…

And too had learned to work barely with the bare essentials too!

1915 was a year that marked…

The start of a campaign The Allie’s Spark…

To storm the peninsula of Gallipoli…

After clearing the Dardanelle Straights for the Russian Navy…

On 25th April 1915..The AE2 had also accomplished a feat out of the blue…

Reaching Constantinoupole that day…

Helping the Infantry to storm those beaches at bay…

The battle began with little knowledge on ground…

The Casualties, fell and began to mount…

They were on the Hospital ship and on the beaches that day…

Then taken to Lemnos for the ANZAC Nurses…

Together with the Lemnians to care for Our ANZACS in every some way!
